Coronavirus Contingency - Survey & Inspection

18/03/2020 00:00:00 We recognise that UK Registered vessels will be finding it increasingly difficult to organise surveys, audits, inspections and activities required under national and international regulations as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has set out guidance for customers in Marine Information Notice MIN 612 (M+F) to provide a basis for continued operations during this unprecedented period.

Extended service for emergency issuing of CECs

04/02/2020 00:00:00 International Seafarers, and the UK Ship Register (UKSR) customers that employ them, are set to benefit from reduced waiting times for the issue of emergency Certificates of Equivalent Competency (eCRA). From Monday 3 February 2020 requests for eCRAs will be picked up by a member of staff between 7am and 7pm every day, including weekends and bank holidays.

First UKSR Ship Owners Forum

Over 20 industry leaders, with the UK Ship Register (UKSR) team and wider Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) colleagues met to take a strategic look at the future of UK maritime.

The UK Ship Register welcomes new Commercial Director

23/01/2020 00:00:00 The new Commercial Director of the UK Ship Register, Dan Vivian, has been appointed at the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). Dan joined the team this January (2020) to work alongside Director Katy Ware in delivering the ambitious plans set out at London International Shipping Week, and as the UK Ship Register looks to play a more active role in supporting ship owners and wider industry.
