Large Yacht Services survey and inspect all UK registered large commercially operating yachts for compliance with the Large Yacht Code. A large yacht vessel must be over 24 metres registered length.

Large Yacht Services (LYS) has a team of dedicated MCA surveyors and customer support staff offering a tailored, responsive and specialised service to Large Yacht customers.

Working within the Red Ensign Group (REG), IMO and other international organisations places LYS at the forefront of international yachting.

The REG Yacht Code has been developed to meet the needs of the fast-evolving superyacht industry and LYS play a pivotal role in the on-going development of the code.

Our services

Commercial registration

LYS survey and certificate the UK’s fleet of commercially operating Large Yachts on an annual basis.

Pleasure registration

LYS can also survey pleasure registered yachts (Part 1) that voluntarily choose to comply with the Red Ensign Group Yacht Code, offering peace of mind to owners, potentially increased re-sale value and possible reduced insurance premiums. 

Refit

LYS offer consultancy on how refit work may or may not affect regulatory compliance. Working closely with yards, designers and owners, we ensure the proposed changes can be achieved while staying compliant with the REG Yacht Code.

LYS provide owners with the assurance that their yacht meets the very highest of safety and environmental protection standards.

Newbuild and stability

LYS offer a customised, fully flexible code compliance consultancy service for newbuilds, working closely with shipyards to improve and simplify systems.
