Scanned copies of documents, translations or Power of Attorney
At the UK Ship Register, we are happy to accept scanned copies of any documents to complete any registration process. Any documents or forms that require a signature must be signed using wet ink, as we do not accept digital signatures.
If information is missing or not clear, we may have to request that original documents are submitted. This also applies if you if you wish for any document to be officially endorsed by the UK Ship Register.
If using the UK Ship Register online service, copies of documents can be uploaded as part of the application process.
Documents not in English and translations
If any supporting documents are not in English, the document must be officially translated, and the English translation notarised for this to be accepted and to support an application. Clear scanned copies of notarised official translations are required.
Documents signed using Power of Attorney
Documents can be signed under a Power of Attorney (PoA). If any document is signed in this way a scanned copy of the PoA must be supplied. We would expect the PoA to include:
- Official Number or IMO number (if available)
- The vessel name (if known)
- Details of the processes that can be completed using the PoA
- The names and signatures of the relevant parties
- The date the PoA was signed
We are happy to accept scanned copies of a completed Power of Attorney.
