If your vessel has previously been registered on the UK Ship Register, and the vessel registration is currently closed or expired, you can apply to re-register your vessel again with the UK Ship Register.
Re-registering your pleasure vessel with the Small Ships Register will give you access to a range of benefits such as easily proving your vessel’s nationality.
To re-register your vessel, you will need to pay the £35 registration fee and provide the relevant documentation.
Documents required to register a vessel with the Small Ships Register (Part 3)
Please note that you will need to print off and sign any documents as we cannot accept digital signatures. Any documents used to support your application for Small Ships Register (Part 3) Registration, if not in English, must be accompanied by a notarised translation.
- Application to Register on Part 3 MSF 4701, please include details of the vessel’s UK Official Number (beginning with SSR if previously registered on Part 3)
- Bill of Sale or document confirming ownership MSF 4705
- Online payment of £35 re-registration fee via GOV.UK secure payment link (for a five year period)
Once you have completed and signed documents, please send these to us by email at uksr@mcga.gov.uk
On receipt of these, the Certificate of Registry will be issued for your vessel, and this will be valid for five years.
