Today (March 8) marks International Women’s Day #IWD2021 – a day celebrated around the world to acknowledge the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
Throughout the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and Her Majesty's Coastguard – the MCA’s frontline emergency service — we’re proud that we reflect that with those women who hold a variety of important roles across many different and diverse areas.
This #IWD2021, we are celebrating all women working within our organisation and taking a look, with this quick snapshot, at just some of our staff who each make a huge difference in their respective fields and disciplines every day.
From work with the MCA’s UK Ship Register (UKSR) to drive the highest standards of seafarer welfare and maritime safety through to the frontline responders of HM Coastguard, pollution response, to the team responsible for overseeing wreck, you’ll find women front and centre in all we do.
